Yanolja disclosed on Thursday that it posted second-quarter consolidated revenue of 282 billion won and operating profit of 1.7 billion won. Revenue rose 20.9 percent from 233.2 billion won a year earlier. Operating profit swung to black from an operating loss of 1.7 billion won in the same period last year.

Net loss for the period was 8.1 billion won, turning from a net profit of 7.3 billion won a year earlier.

First-half consolidated revenue totalled 502.3 billion won, up 14 percent from 440.7 billion won a year earlier. Operating loss came to 15.2 billion won, turning from operating profit of 3.5 billion won in the year-ago period. Net loss was 33.0 billion won, swinging from a net profit of 3.9 billion won a year earlier.

First-half adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were 28.5 billion won. Global gross transaction value totalled 21.4 trillion won, up 26.8 percent from a year earlier.

By business segment, enterprise solution revenue in the first half was 148.9 billion won, up 12.8 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit was 15.9 billion won, down 24.2 percent. Adjusted EBITDA was 25.7 billion won, down 30.1 percent.

Consumer platform revenue was 359.3 billion won, up 15 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit was 3.5 billion won, down 75.2 percent. Adjusted EBITDA was 22.7 billion won, down 39.3 percent.

The holdings segment posted revenue of 9.4 billion won, up 105 percent from a year earlier, but recorded an operating loss of 14.4 billion won. The Advanced Research and Development segment posted revenue of 1.0 billion won and an operating loss of 6.2 billion won.

Yanolja is expanding its AI-based hospitality solutions and data platform in the enterprise solution segment on demand for digital transformation among global travel operators. In the consumer platform segment, it is pursuing expansion in global inbound and overseas markets, centred on Nol Universe.

A Yanolja official said the global travel market remained uncertain in the first half due to geopolitical variables, higher airfares and a strong exchange rate, but travel demand showed a gradual recovery. The official said the company plans to strengthen competitiveness centred on AI and data technology based on balanced growth in global enterprise solutions and the consumer platform.
