NCSoft said on Aug. 13 it will switch the global service for its massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Throne and Liberty (TL) to an in-house service system by the end of this year.

NCSoft plans to directly operate TL's global service, after cooperating with Amazon Game Studios, to strengthen linkage between development and service operations.

Once the transition is completed within this year, users on PC and console platforms such as NCSoft's Purple, Steam, PlayStation and Xbox will be able to play TL in a unified global environment.

After the service operator changes, existing data and assets for TL users, including character information, gameplay progress, inventory items and the in-game currency Lucent, will all be maintained. Existing Purple users in particular can continue using their accounts without re-agreeing to terms or going through additional procedures.

Detailed information on the TL global service transition will be released sequentially later through the official website and an information page.
