Hancom said on Tuesday its unit Hancom Lifecare signed a five-year agreement with France's robot company Shark Robotics for exclusive domestic sales of firefighting robots and cooperation on technology development.

The products covered are the large firefighting and rescue robot Colossus and the Rhyno Protect fire door blocking robot. Over the next five years, Shark Robotics cannot sell the two products in South Korea through other distributors.

Hancom Lifecare also secured domestic sales rights for other Shark Robotics robot product lines, in addition to exclusive sales rights for the two products.

The company said Colossus and Rhyno Protect will carry Hancom's in-house agentic OS. The agentic OS is an operating system that controls and manages multiple AI agents within a single framework, rather than using individual AI one by one. The two companies agreed to cooperate with the goal of integrating the agentic OS with the two products by Dec. 31.

Hancom CEO Yeon-su Kim (김연수) said, "Hancom has declared a shift into an agentic OS company and is leaping forward as an AX partner for companies at home and abroad." He said, "Hancom's agentic OS is expected to go beyond innovation in the work environment and also serve as an AI platform responsible for operating and managing intelligent hardware, including robots."
