Krafton said on Aug. 10 it will run the summer-themed event "PUBG Seongsu Presents: Bluezone" at its offline brand space "PUBG Seongsu" from Aug. 11.
The event reinterprets the Bluezone, a survival boundary in "Battlegrounds", as a summer rest and experience space. A collaborative exhibition will be held with the global art project The Jaunt and the Busan multi-purpose cultural space Union Gallery.
Overseas artists including Travis Weller (트래비스 웰러) and Stevie Shao (스티비 샤오) are set to hold live mural painting on site. A "PUBG X Met&Mel" brand zone created with lifestyle brand Met&Mel will also be set up. A Bluezone-only pattern using the Battlegrounds intellectual property will be developed and applied to wave shelters, dome tents and triangular tarps.
A creator collaboration programme is set to be run. On Aug. 15, it will hold a "Frying Pan Run" in which participants run around the Seongsu area following the shape of a frying pan, and an after-party combining a sauna and cold-water bath after the run. It also plans programmes featuring DJ, music and dance creators.
The event space will include sunshades, dome tents and an ice chilling zone as a heat shelter, and it plans to provide free drinking water to visitors and residents. The one-day class programme, "PUBG Seongsu Summer School", will run through Aug. 31.
A PUBG Seongsu official said, "This Bluezone is an event that reinterprets a symbol of tension and threat in the game as a summer vacation space in the city where people can take a short break." The official added, "We hope not only Battlegrounds fans but also residents visiting Seongsu will experience exhibitions, music and lifestyle content together at PUBG Seongsu."
