[DigitalToday reporter Yoonseo Lee (이윤서)] XRP is again being tested on the $1 level.

U.Today, a blockchain media outlet, reported on Monday that XRP is trading around $1.07 after repeated rebound attempts failed, increasing the likelihood of a retest of the key $1 support level.

The range currently in focus is $1 to $1.03. That band has drawn buying several times since a sharp drop in June and has acted as a key support level that has prevented further near-term declines in XRP. Whether XRP can hold this zone over the next 7 days is seen as a key variable that will determine the short-term trend.

The technical picture still leans bearish. XRP is trading below the 26-, 50- and 100-day exponential moving averages. The 200-day exponential moving average is higher at $1.39, a signal seen as showing the market is far from a recovery in the long-term trend. Since early June, rebounds have also stalled below falling moving averages, creating a pattern of steadily lower highs.

Recent price moves have also failed to provide a strong reversal signal. Trading volume has steadily declined over the past 2 weeks, and XRP is moving sideways in a narrow range just above support. The market appears to be waiting for a clear catalyst on both the buy and sell sides.

Momentum indicators are also holding in neutral territory. The relative strength index, or RSI, is around 45, neither overbought nor oversold. That leaves room for a rebound, but it also suggests additional selling pressure could emerge before the market enters a technically oversold zone.

A near-term rebound scenario also remains. If XRP again defends the $1 to $1.03 area, it could try to recover toward the 50-day exponential moving average near $1.10 to $1.12.

Repeatedly testing the same support level is a burden. Support often weakens as it is tested multiple times. That is because pent-up demand can decline as buyers keep defending the same price range. If XRP posts a clear close below $1 with accompanying volume, stop-loss orders could be triggered in a chain reaction, accelerating the pace of declines.

In this situation, XRP is again at a major turning point. This week's trading is increasingly likely to determine whether buyers can hold the $1 level against selling pressure, or whether one of this year's most closely watched support levels breaks, expanding the bearish phase.
