Integrated DB platform company Tmax Tibero said on Sunday it has launched a Korean-made database appliance, TDA (Tibero DB Appliance), in cooperation with server and storage company Eslim Korea.

The company said TDA is an appliance that integrates Tibero DB and Eslim Korea servers into a single system.

It is optimised for database workloads, including operating system kernel parameters, CPU and memory resource allocation and a dedicated network, to minimise performance bottlenecks, the company said.

The two companies said they will step up cooperation, starting with the TDA launch, spanning joint product development, sales cooperation and joint marketing. They plan to combine their references and technical know-how to expand market share in a DB infrastructure market focused on foreign solutions and build a competitive Korean infrastructure ecosystem in line with AI and cloud environments.

Park Kyung-hee (박경희), chief executive of Tibero, said: "TDA is an integrated platform that combines domestically developed DBMS and server technology to secure performance, stability and cost efficiency." She added: "Based on Tibero's Oracle compatibility, we will provide ODA operating customers with an economical and stable alternative for switching."
