SOOP said on Sunday it will expand operations of its optical motion-capture studios from 1 site to a total of 4 to support virtual streamers.

Starting in September, SOOP will expand its optical motion-capture studio rental program, previously run at 1 studio, to a total of 4 studios in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon. The move aims to reduce the cost burden for individual streamers using motion-capture equipment and studios and improve access.

It will also strengthen on-site filming support. SOOP plans to provide optical motion-capture suits, filming equipment and professional operators for on-site operations. It will also provide raw filming data for use in secondary editing and content production.

Applications for studio support will be accepted from the 1st to the 10th of each month and will cover content scheduled for the following month as of the application date. Any streamer with an avatar in a 3D humanoid format such as VRM or FBX can apply, and selections will be made after an internal review of the content proposal.

SOOP has operated a motion-capture studio rental programme since 2024 and is running related programmes such as "Welcome Virtual" and "Virtual Makeover". The company plans to continue strengthening production infrastructure and content support to build a virtual ecosystem.
