LG CNS said on Thursday it posted first-half revenue of 2.8358 trillion won and operating profit of 222.1 billion won. That was up 6.1 percent and 1.1 percent from a year earlier, respectively.
First-half AI and cloud business revenue rose 5.1 percent to 1.6714 trillion won. It accounted for about 59 percent of total revenue.
In the period, smart engineering business revenue rose 6.2 percent to 502.4 billion won, while digital business service revenue increased 8.8 percent to 662.1 billion won.
Second-quarter revenue came to 1.520828 trillion won and operating profit was 127.88 billion won. Revenue rose 4.2 percent from a year earlier but operating profit fell 9.2 percent.
LG CNS plans to expand its physical AI business in the second half based on the robot learning and operations platform PhysicalWorks and an industry-specific robot foundation model (RFM).
The AI data centre being built in Indonesia is also scheduled for completion in the second half. The company also plans to expand manufacturing AX in North America and financial digital transformation projects in Asia-Pacific and Japan.
