KakaoBank's investment tab, launched in April, has topped 5 million cumulative users in about three months. The figure is seen as reflecting the impact of integrating in-app investment services so users can check investment products and assets in one place.

KakaoBank said on July 28 that cumulative users of the investment tab stood at 5.43 million as of July 26.

The investment tab is a service that lets users manage assets invested through KakaoBank and check products and information that match their investment preferences. It consists of an Investment Home showing users' holdings and a Discovery Home offering investment products and content.

KakaoBank is also providing market updates on major indices in South Korea and the United States, as well as portfolio analysis, using its artificial intelligence service KakaoBank AI.

As use of the investment service increased, fund sales also grew. KakaoBank's total fund sales balance exceeded 1.8 trillion won in the first half of this year. The number of fund products rose to 80 from 6 at the start of the service.

KakaoBank is structuring its investment tab so users can access securities firm financial products such as funds and the MMF Box, as well as bonds, negotiable certificates of deposit, repurchase agreements, individual savings accounts and individual retirement pensions.

A KakaoBank official said customers are checking their investment status in the KakaoBank app and finding investment opportunities that suit them, adding it will continue to expand investment products and services.
