Global AI agent startup Liner said on Tuesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with Samsung C&T's construction unit for an agentic AI-based smart building business.

The agreement focuses on applying Liner's AI technology to Samsung C&T's commercial building platform Bynd to upgrade services. Bynd is a commercial smart building platform that Samsung C&T unveiled in October 2024. It offers features including agentic AI-based space control and reporting, a 3D digital twin, mobile access and parking, and cloud-based leasing and energy management.

The companies will review services such as automated generation of building operation reports, optimisation of energy use and support for leasing strategy development by linking an AI search agent with Bynd's AI and digital twin infrastructure. They plan to flesh out models derived from the cooperation through to a formal service launch.

Kang Jung-gu (강정구), head of AI strategy at Liner, said the cooperation with Samsung C&T's Bynd would be a representative case of Liner's AI agent being applied in an offline business environment. He said the company would increase convenience and productivity in workspaces based on capabilities built in the knowledge exploration field.

A Samsung C&T official said the company expects Bynd's service depth and differentiation to be further strengthened through the synergy created with Liner.
