Hana Financial Group carried out a social contribution activity for vulnerable elderly people in the Incheon area.
Hana Financial said on July 16 it held a volunteer activity on July 15 at the Gajwa Senior Culture Center in Seo-gu, Incheon, sharing health-boosting meals for older people and delivering “happiness boxes.”
The activity is part of a relay social contribution programme in the Incheon area that has been under way since April, ahead of the group’s planned head office relocation in September to Cheongna International City in Incheon.
Employees provided samgyetang to vulnerable older people who visited the Gajwa Senior Culture Center. They delivered happiness boxes containing health-boosting meals and instant rice to the homes of older people who have difficulty visiting welfare facilities.
Starting with this event, the group plans to provide samgyetang to about 4,000 vulnerable older people at 9 welfare facilities in areas including Namdong-gu and Gyeyang-gu in Incheon through July 24. It will sequentially deliver 1,000 happiness boxes to older people with limited mobility.
A Hana Financial employee who took part in the volunteer activity said, "I hope it helps older people stay healthy through the hot summer."
