Kakao Mobility said on Tuesday it obtained ISO 45001 certification, an international standard for occupational safety and health management systems, from the British Standards Institution (BSI).

ISO 45001 is an occupational safety and health management system standard set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It is awarded to companies with safety and health management systems that systematically manage workplace risk factors and prevent industrial accidents.

Kakao Mobility said the certification recognises that it has systematised safety and health management procedures across a range of areas, from platform service operations to offline sites.

Kakao Mobility plans to continuously monitor progress in meeting safety and health targets by business and workplace. It also plans to build an integrated risk assessment system that reflects the characteristics of each business. It will also carry out ongoing reviews and improvement activities for the performance of its safety and health management system.

Kakao Mobility CEO Geung-seon Ryu (류긍선) said, "This certification has officially recognised that Kakao Mobility's safety and health management efforts meet international standards." He added, "We will continue to expand the scope of certification and advance our safety management system to help create a safe and healthy working environment."
