Shinhan Bank held a management strategy meeting for the second half of the year and shared execution strategies focused on expanding its customer base and deepening customer relationships.

Shinhan Bank said it held its “2026 second-half management strategy meeting” on Sunday with Chief Executive Jeong Sang-hyeok (정상혁) and about 180 executives and employees in attendance.

The meeting presented “Wide & Deep” as a key second-half message, meaning horizontal expansion of the customer base and vertical deepening of customer relationships.

“Wide” refers to a strategy of securing touchpoints with customers to broaden foundations for future growth. “Deep” means strengthening customer relationships by providing differentiated solutions.

To that end, Shinhan Bank set key second-half initiatives as expanding its core customer base by upgrading customer management and sales support solutions, broadening customer touchpoints using “Shinhan Super SOL” and non-financial platforms, and improving work productivity through AX linked to its core banking business, including AI agents.

It also set the direction for a second-half organisational reshuffle. It named stronger customer base, stronger customer trust and higher organisational efficiency as core pillars, and established an organisational system to enhance execution of its management strategy.

It will first create a “Super SOL Promotion Task Force” to build an 추진 system to strengthen group-level collaboration and the competitiveness of its integrated platform. It also plans to set up a “Marketing Headquarters” and a “Customer Marketing Department” to pursue customised marketing by customer segments using expanded customer touchpoints.

It also created an “Information Security Department” to strengthen information protection capabilities. The existing “Treasury Department” was expanded and reorganised into a “Treasury Headquarters” within the Management Support Group to unify treasury management functions and enhance expertise and organisational operating efficiency.

Jeong said, “All the various businesses we are pursuing are to reach more customers.” He added, “Please put top priority on protecting customer assets and interests, and continue to work on financial consumer protection and internal controls.”
