[DigitalToday reporter Ji-young Lee (이지영)] Shinhan Bank's electronic signature authentication service, Shinhan Certificate, exceeded 13 million subscribers on Thursday.

Shinhan Certificate is an authentication service that can be used for identity verification and electronic signatures when conducting financial transactions and using partner services. The number of subscribers rose by about 3 million in around a year after surpassing 10 million in May last year.

Shinhan Bank has expanded issuance of Shinhan Certificate mainly through non-face-to-face channels and has increased the number of participating institutions so it can be used in finance and daily life.

Based on that, users can use Shinhan Certificate as a group-wide integrated authentication method on Shinhan Super SOL. A single certificate can be used to complete authentication procedures for services at major group affiliates, including the bank.

To mark the launch of Shinhan Super SOL, it has also been holding an event for new Shinhan Certificate issuance since July 1. It offers prizes such as Eland gift certificates, accommodation vouchers for Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, and discount vouchers for Aqua Planet to customers who newly issue Shinhan Certificate.

The company explained that Shinhan Certificate plays the role of a core authentication infrastructure in the process of linking services of affiliates such as banking, securities, cards and life.

A Shinhan Bank official said, "Through Shinhan Certificate, we are supporting customers so they can use the group affiliates' various services more conveniently."
