The National Information Society Agency (NIA) held a declaration ceremony for its occupational safety and health management policy at its Seoul office on June 29, it said on June 30.

The policy, part of a comprehensive labor safety plan, includes key tasks such as building an integrated safety management system for contractors and subcontractors and making workers’ right to stop work effective.

The ceremony was attended by the NIA president and the union chair, as well as Kwang-ik Hwang (황광익), CEO of iNSOFT, Jung-hoon Song (송정훈), a director at ITCEN CLOIT, Dae-won Kim (김대원), a director at Able Information Technology, Jun-sik Hwang (황준식), a deputy general manager at CBRE, and Il-bong Kang (강일봉), head of MCSERV. They expressed the agency's commitment to prioritising safety.

Hyung-chul Kim (김형철), president of NIA, said, "Safety is not the responsibility of a specific department, but the responsibility of all of us." He added, "We will not neglect even a single small risk factor, and everyone’s actions together will make NIA a safer and more trusted agency."
