SOOP is expanding its e-sports partnership with Google Play from its existing titles to other game leagues, strengthening support for the ecosystem.
According to SOOP on Sunday, Google Play will participate as an official sponsor of Nexon’s FC Online e-sports league FSL (FC Online Super Champions League), which SOOP operates.
FSL is the flagship FC Online e-sports league run jointly by Nexon and SOOP. This season begins in earnest with a group draw event at Jamsil DN Colosseum on Sunday. The league will determine the champion in a final on Sept. 6.
Google Play previously served as title sponsor for Google Play ASL Season 20 and Google Play ASL Season 21, continuing e-sports cooperation with SOOP. In the second half of the year, the final of Google Play ASL Season 22 will be held at Jamsil Lotte World Ice Garden. The final is being prepared on the largest scale to date and plans to provide a vivid viewing environment in a larger space.
With the sponsorship, SOOP has expanded the scope of its cooperation with Google Play from StarCraft to FC Online. Google Play will support SOOP’s major e-sports leagues from ASL to FSL and present content across various titles to users.
SOOP currently operates various in-house produced e-sports leagues, including ASL, GSL and FSL. It plans to continue working with Google Play to expand South Korea’s e-sports ecosystem.
