SKC is speeding up its shift to artificial intelligence. SKC said on Thursday it will launch a dedicated organization to drive AI transformation and build a companywide system for using AI.

SKC set up an "AI Frontier" task force under the CEO early this year to oversee companywide AI transformation. The task force, which officially launched last month, includes members from SKC as well as SKC investees including SK Nexilis, SK PIC Global, ISC, Absolics and SK REVO.

The AI Frontier task force will identify and advance AI transformation projects linked to business operations, and work with external experts to lead practical AI adoption. It also plans to set AI usage guidelines to address difficulties employees face during the adoption process.

Alongside running the dedicated organization, SKC will also build AI infrastructure. In addition to its existing internal business-focused agent, A.Biz, it is reviewing the adoption of generative AI solutions such as enterprise ChatGPT. The goal is to create an environment in which employees can use AI in day-to-day work.

SKC will also expand AI training for employees. This year it will broaden AI-use training that has continued since last year into a tailored "AI Leadership" course for executives and team leaders. It also plans to offer hands-on learning opportunities for employees to identify and carry out AI transformation projects in real work, aiming to develop in-house AI experts.

An SKC official said, "Through operating the dedicated organization, creating an environment for using AI, and strengthening employees' capabilities, we will accelerate companywide AI transformation and ensure it leads to tangible results."
