[DigitalToday reporter Ji-young Lee (이지영)] Shinhan Bank's ISIC international student ID has surpassed 10,000 issuances. It is being assessed as expanding contact points with university student customers by running non-face-to-face issuance and on-campus instant issuance channels and increasing the number of universities for which it supports certification fees.
Shinhan Bank said on June 19 that issuance of its Shinhan ISIC international student ID for university students exceeded 10,000 in the first half of this year.
The ISIC international student ID is an international student card accepted in 113 countries worldwide. It can be used to verify student status for studying abroad, language training, exchange programmes and overseas travel, and it also offers about 150,000 discounts worldwide.
The student ID is issued based on the SOL Travel Check, a travel-focused card. Along with ISIC discounts, users can receive exchange-rate preferential treatment and exemptions from overseas payment and overseas ATM fees.
A Shinhan Bank official said, "Surpassing 10,000 is the result of expanding contact points with university student customers and strengthening the convenience of non-face-to-face issuance at the same time." The official added, "We will be of practical help to university student customers' financial lives."
