Baemin riders visited an abandoned dog shelter to deliver supplies and help improve conditions through volunteer work. Woowa Youths, a logistics unit of Baedal Minjok, said on Wednesday it held a volunteer activity with Baemin Connect riders and employees.

The volunteer activity was planned as part of a social contribution programme by Baemin Connect Best Rider Club, the official community for Baemin Connect riders. Launched in April, the club has continued participatory activities such as co-prosperity programmes, social contribution and safety campaigns.

A total of 50 people, including club riders and Woowa Youths employees, visited Bigdog Forest, an abandoned dog shelter in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. Woowa Youths donated pet supplies such as treats and training pads through its quick commerce service Baemin B Mart, and participating riders loaded the items into their top boxes and delivered them to the shelter. They also cleaned kennels and care areas where the abandoned dogs stay.

Woowa Youths said it plans to link the volunteering beyond a one-off event to tackling the issue of abandoned animals in local communities. It plans to continue a "family-finding campaign" by attaching posters on the back of Baemin Connect riders' top boxes with adoption stories and QR codes.

A Woowa Youths official said, "It was a meaningful occasion that showed riders' experience built up in the delivery field and the delivery infrastructure can reach neglected parts of the local community." The official said, "We will build a sustainable delivery ecosystem that coexists with local communities."
