[DigitalToday reporter Sangyeob Oh] The Korea Financial Investment Association carried out volunteer activities with its member companies at a residential facility for people with severe disabilities. It also delivered a donation to improve the living environment.
KOFIA said on Tuesday that 55 employees from 14 member firms and the association volunteered at Hansarang Village, a residential facility for people with severe disabilities in Gwangju, Gyeonggi province.
KOFIA also delivered a 20 million won donation on the day to improve living conditions at Hansarang Village, including drainage maintenance and improvements to living quarters.
The Hansarang Village volunteer programme marks its 15th year. It has expanded from an activity carried out solely by KOFIA into a social contribution project joined by the financial investment industry. It also said the number of participating member firms is increasing each year.
KOFIA Chairman Hwang Seong-yup (황성엽) said, "The recent heated vitality of the capital market is 이어지고 있다" and added, "We will continue to fulfil our role as a platform connecting sharing and volunteering."
