KT discussed industrial innovation and changes in ways of working driven by the spread of artificial intelligence with women scientists and engineers.
KT said on Tuesday it held an industrial technology convergence seminar with the Korea Federation of Women’s Science & Technology Associations on June 16 at its Gwanghwamun headquarters in Seoul. The seminar was held under the theme, “Industrial Technology x AI: Work and change on industrial sites reshaped by AI.”
About 40 people attended, including female executives and professors from industry and academia affiliated with the federation. Ahead of the seminar, participants visited KT Onmaru, an experiential exhibition hall at KT’s Gwanghwamun headquarters, to look at examples of KT’s AI technologies and service applications.
Won Man-ho (원만호), an executive director and head of KT’s AX Platform Division, gave a presentation titled “Beyond a tool to a colleague: Transition to an AI-native company.” He explained the trend of AI evolving beyond a simple work tool into a collaboration partner. He also introduced multi-agent-based work execution, companywide AI internalisation and directions for transitioning to an AI-native enterprise.
Ahn Sung-hee (안성희), an executive director at Shinhan Card’s AX Research Institute, shared AI use cases and outlooks across industrial sites, including finance, under the theme “Industrial change caused by AI.” A subsequent discussion addressed shifts in industrial structure, talent development, organisational culture innovation and the role of women in science and technology as AI spreads.
Ok Kyung-hwa (옥경화), head of KT’s IT division, said, "AI is a core technology that determines industrial competitiveness, while also playing a role in changing ways of working and organisational culture." She added, "We will expand exchanges with experts from industry and academia and share AX experience and know-how to contribute to strengthening South Korea’s AI competitiveness."
