Hana Financial Group is helping foreign workers settle in South Korea and strengthen employability.
Hana Financial said on June 15 it will implement the "Foreign Worker Job Competency Education Support Project" for foreign workers.
The project was launched to raise foreign workers' job proficiency and help build a foundation for employment and long-term service. It links basic job training, hands-on training to obtain qualifications and financial education. The focus is to improve both adaptability at industrial sites and understanding of finance.
Hana Financial Group will recruit trainees in cooperation with 7 foreign worker support centres nationwide and provide the curriculum through state-certified vocational training institutions.
The curriculum consists of industrial safety and industrial site awareness education, prevention of financial fraud and basic financial education, and training to support obtaining forklift and welding qualifications. Practice-focused training is designed to build job competencies that can be used at industrial sites.
The financial education will be conducted in cooperation with Hana Bank's FX Customer Marketing Department. It will provide foreign workers, who face difficulties using financial services due to language barriers and other factors, with financial fraud prevention and basic financial education.
An official at Hana Financial's ESG Planning Team said, "We will continue practical support so foreign workers can prepare for a better future," and added, "We will continue to expand various support activities."
