Kakao is moving faster to embed internal compliance management by rewarding employees for contributing to the establishment of fair trade order and shared growth cooperation.

Kakao said on May 18 it held the 'Kakao Compliance Awards' to reward organizations and crew members (employees) that contributed to establishing fair trade order and shared growth cooperation.

The awards were set up to provide incentives to crew members who contributed to spreading the Fair Trade Compliance Program (CP) and to cement a self-compliance culture within the organization.

Award recipients included crew members and organizations that played a key role in Kakao receiving a presidential citation on 'Fair Trade Day' in April. Two crew members were selected for contributing to producing practical shared growth models, including lowering fees and shortening settlement cycles, by participating in a public-private consultative body on mobile gift certificates. Organizations tied to 'Kakao Class' and 'Project Dangol', which supported information technology (IT) education and digital marketing for small business owners, were also included.

Kakao has built a groupwide operating framework by refining rules and manuals since it formally introduced CP in 2024. It adopted the branding name 'Let's CP' through an internal contest. It is also making compliance management a core part of corporate culture by refining its fair trade risk management system and rolling out various training and campaigns.

Jang Young-shin (장영신), performance leader for Kakao’s compliance operations, said the company will continue to spread a self-compliance culture to create a healthy platform ecosystem and further strengthen its compliance management stance to fulfill social responsibility.
