Humax is expanding its UK charging-infrastructure business with an integrated model that provides charging solutions at the vehicle-purchase stage. Humax said on May 15 it signed a strategic partnership with Harmony Automotive, an official UK BYD dealer network.

Harmony Automotive is a premium dealer network that operates 6 showrooms across the UK. Through the collaboration, customers can choose Humax’s MX7 home charger and installation service when signing a BYD vehicle contract. It applies to both individual and corporate customers.

The existing approach to building charging infrastructure was structured to proceed separately after a vehicle purchase. The partnership brings forward the timing of proposing charging solutions to the vehicle contract stage. The company said it sees this as a shift to a monetisation model that moves the point when revenue is generated in the charging-infrastructure business to the beginning of the purchase cycle.

BYD’s sales in the UK totaled 51,422 vehicles last year. In January this year, it continued growth of 21 percent from a year earlier. Humax has a strategy to pre-empt a B2B2C distribution structure in official sales channels that directly links expanding demand for BYD purchases to demand for home charging.

The MX7 is a home charger equipped with V2G, solar integration, smart app control and a function to prevent unauthorised use. It is eligible for the UK government’s OZEV subsidy and provides a 5-year quality warranty and 24-hour local customer support in the UK. It won a gold prize at the 2025 London Design Awards last year.

A Humax official said the partnership was a shift in distribution structure that integrates charging infrastructure into the electric-vehicle purchase experience. The official said the company plans to step up business expansion in the European market based on entry at the vehicle-purchase stage.
