Enterprise solution company Younglimwon SoftLab opened Y SPACE in Paju to spread a collaborative environment based on creativity, innovation and culture.

Y SPACE in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, has a total floor area of about 5,327 square metres and comprises 4 buildings. It focuses on helping Younglimwon SoftLab employees strengthen communication and collaboration and raise productivity in an environment different from the existing office, ultimately innovating organisational culture.

The company said the architectural structure emphasises openness, including high ceilings and abundant natural light, and provides an immersive research environment distinct from conventional offices.

The space is designed for varied uses depending on purpose, including "work" for focused same-day tasks, "work-stay" combining lodging and work, "workshop" for team collaboration and "rest" functions with family. For this, it includes various lodging facilities such as single rooms, caravans and pensions, as well as community spaces and sports facilities, supporting both immersion and recharging.

Y SPACE goes beyond a simple research and development space and serves as an execution base for an R&D value chain that runs from technology development to productisation and customer expansion. The company stressed that it focuses on actively identifying technologies based on artificial intelligence and Software as a Service (SaaS) and building a virtuous cycle that links them to product advancement, to speed up technology commercialisation. It also drives innovation in ways of working and organisational culture.

Younglimwon SoftLab said members participated directly from the planning stage, reflecting a culture of autonomy and participation-focused collaboration in the space design. It plans to establish it as a base camp for organisational culture innovation where members can think and communicate freely and draw out creative ideas.

Y SPACE will also be used as an outpost for its global expansion strategy. Younglimwon SoftLab plans to use Y SPACE as a collaboration base with overseas customers and partners, while pushing ahead with global talent development and technology exchanges linked to education programmes targeting the Japanese and Southeast Asian markets.

Young-beom Kwon (권영범), CEO of Younglimwon SoftLab, said, "Y SPACE is a key execution base that goes beyond technology development and connects technology to actual business performance based on creativity and innovation." He added, "We will develop it into a core space that strengthens our product competitiveness and leads the advancement of our business structure."
