Devsisters will begin a high-intensity management overhaul that includes an unpaid management pledge by executives and a companywide voluntary redundancy programme, to break through internal and external crises such as worsening performance.

Devsisters said on May 11 it is implementing a companywide reform plan to respond to rapidly changing market conditions and establish a solid financial structure.

The measures were prepared to respond to worsening management conditions, including intensifying competition in content and weak performance by new titles. The reform plan has 4 pillars: reshaping the portfolio around profitability and growth, building a high-efficiency work system based on new technologies, stabilising finances through strict cost controls, and streamlining the organisation.

Chief Executive Gil-hyeon Jo (조길현) and board co-chairs Ji-hoon Lee (이지훈) and Jong-heun Kim (김종흔) decided to run the company without pay by returning their entire compensation until management stabilises. Other key executives will also take a 50 percent pay cut. The company also plans to set up a cost management task force directly under the CEO to strictly control companywide resource allocation and spending.

The company will also pursue organisational downsizing. It will freeze new hiring for roles other than essential duties and actively pursue redeployment of internal staff. It will introduce a voluntary redundancy programme for all employees, and plans to separately notify internal staff of details.

With profitability as the top priority, the company will fully review its business portfolio in games and intellectual property. For expansion of its core Cookierun IP, it will concentrate investment on businesses with tangible results to seek a swift improvement in performance. New projects will also undergo strict commercial feasibility reviews.

It will also push ahead with a system transition to raise operational efficiency. It plans to fully introduce new technologies such as artificial intelligence across all work areas except for IP-specific creative functions, to reshape itself into a high-efficiency lean organisation.

A Devsisters official said the company will undergo a structural transition to make its game development and operations methods more efficient and maximise employees' capabilities. The official added the company plans to secure financial stability and establish a foundation for sustainable growth.
