Dunamu is moving to target global markets with its Web3 infrastructure brand GIWA.

Dunamu, which operates digital asset exchange Upbit, said on May 4 that GIWA will take part in the blockchain conference Consensus 2026 in Miami in the United States.

The Upbit GIWA team plans to set up a booth at the venue and introduce the GIWA ecosystem to global developers. It plans to highlight the infrastructure as lowering barriers to entering Web3 based on interoperability with Upbit and enabling convenient and safe use.

The GIWA ecosystem includes the GIWA Chain testnet, a high-performance Layer2 chain; the GIWA Wallet with a user-friendly interface; and Dojang, which records on-chain whether off-chain data has been verified.

It will also introduce as key infrastructure Bojagi, a privacy technology for financial institutions that encrypts asset transfer information to protect transaction parties and amount information, and UP.ID, a Web3 naming service that uses nicknames instead of complex addresses.

Dunamu will also unveil at the event GASOK, a GIWA developer growth support programme, and begin recruiting applicants.

GASOK is a programme to activate the GIWA ecosystem. It selects outstanding projects among developers of decentralised applications (dApps) using GIWA and provides support including technical consulting and development costs.

GIWA's core engineers plan to explain the GASOK programme to global dApp developers during the event and encourage participation.

The GIWA team will also announce on site that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Optimism, a major project in the Ethereum Layer2 market.

The two companies plan to cooperate to ensure stable operation of GIWA's sequencer and build backup infrastructure, and to share dedicated engineering resources and a global partner network.

They will also discuss possibilities for cooperation including advancing the technology and expanding the ecosystem. GIWA's strategy is to secure global-level technological competitiveness and strengthen its position as a major Web3 infrastructure player based on the cooperation.

On May 5 in Miami, they also plan to jointly hold a side event to expand exchanges with global institutional partners.

Upbit Chief Operating Officer Minseok Jeong (정민석) said, "We will build a Web3 ecosystem that is the most Korean while also global, taking this event as an opportunity."
