SOOP said on Wednesday it posted first-quarter consolidated revenue of 106.0 billion won and operating profit of 21.2 billion won. That was down 1.5 percent and 24.1 percent, respectively, from a year earlier. Net profit fell 4 percent to 22.5 billion won.

Revenue from the platform segment fell 12.8 percent from a year earlier to 74.0 billion won. Advertising revenue rose 39.6 percent to 30.5 billion won. Within that, content-type advertising increased 24.9 percent to 14.2 billion won.

SOOP said it focused in the first quarter on strengthening platform competitiveness, centered on streamers' creative activities and user community experiences. Through platform integration, it established an environment for simultaneous global streaming and increased the competitiveness of its own intellectual property and original content. It also steadily expanded categories such as virtual and music.

In March, in particular, key activity indicators showed a broadly stable trend, and meaningful results continued in community participation and user experience.

In the second quarter, it plans to expand partnerships based on account and data linkages with major game companies. It also plans to continue content collaborations linked to the IP of various partners, including leagues, associations, groups and companies, and to steadily broaden its ecosystem.
