Amazon Web Services (AWS) has unveiled a new AI video conversion tool, AWS Elemental Inference, aimed at the social media live streaming market, SiliconANGLE reported on Feb. 24.
The service automatically analyzes horizontal video and optimizes it for vertical screens. It supports real-time use on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
Most traditional broadcast video is produced in a horizontal format, while social media platforms prefer vertical screens. This has required creators to do separate editing, but AWS said AWS Elemental Inference can convert video in real time, sharply cutting editing time.
It added that the tool tracks people in the video and highlights key action, automatically converting footage into a 9:16 vertical video.
The company said broadcasters and content producers can apply AI-based optimization without changing their existing video architecture. It said AWS engineers continuously update the models, allowing use without AI expertise.
AWS Elemental Inference uses real-time metadata analysis to automatically detect key scenes and immediately convert highlight clips into a vertical format for distribution. In sports, it supports quick sharing to social media by instantly detecting touchdowns, goals and decisive plays.
