KT said on Wednesday it carried out its 'On Sharing (Warm) volunteering activities' for underprivileged groups nationwide for the Lunar New Year holiday.
The 'On Sharing' volunteering activities are KT's nationwide social contribution programme that supports vulnerable groups during the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays each year. This year, it provided meals to older people and vulnerable groups who have difficulty receiving care during the holiday period. It also combined the effort with digital safety education, including voice phishing prevention.
Employees at KT's Gwanghwamun headquarters held a lunch service volunteer event on Tuesday for about 600 older people at the Jongno Senior Welfare Center in Jongno district, Seoul. Instructors from KT's IT Supporters provided key guidelines for preventing voice phishing losses during the holiday.
Regional headquarters nationwide also carried out sharing activities tailored to local characteristics. It delivered warmth to local communities through traveling meal services, sharing tteokguk, and providing daily necessities such as cold-weather supplies and rice.
Tae-sung Oh (오태성), head of KT's ESG Management Promotion Office, said, "Based on warm technology with sincerity, KT will continue various ESG activities to help expand social value and contribute to the development of South Korea."
