Security firm Sophos will acquire UK security startup Arco Cyber as part of its expansion of AI-based governance, Techzine reported on Monday.

Sophos said the acquisition will help organisations without dedicated security leaders build CISO-level risk response capabilities.

Arco Cyber has a platform that verifies whether security controls actually work, links the results to risk and compliance systems, and converts them into reports for executives.

Sophos CEO Joe Levy (조 리비) said, "Many organisations have security tools but lack the ability to understand whether they are actually effective and make risk judgments based on that."

Sophos aims to help MSPs and MSSPs evolve beyond simple technical operators into strategic security advisers.

Levy said, "Many organisations are entrusting everyday security decision-making to a trusted partner," adding, "We will provide them with AI-based governance, continuous validation tools and clear risk insights."
