NCSoft's new title 'Lineage Classic' is drawing strong early demand after its launch.

NCSoft said on Feb. 9 that Lineage Classic surpassed 500,000 cumulative users within two days of its release on Feb. 7. Peak concurrent users hit 180,000.

PC cafe indicators are also positive. GameTrics data showed it ranked fourth in PC cafe share within two days of launch. On streaming platforms such as YouTube and SOOP, concurrent viewers reached as many as 250,000, showing popularity in the game-watching market as well.

A key factor is seen as restoring nostalgia for earlier Lineage. It preserved the feel of the original, including graphics and battle sound, and adopted a monthly subscription model that won a positive response from users.

NCSoft carried out updates reflecting user feedback. On Feb. 8, it increased the number of monsters and eased restrictions on player killing. After the official service begins on Feb. 11, it is also reviewing boosting adena acquisition and introducing an auto-play system.

The development team said, "We thought carefully between restoring memories and flexibility for today," and added, "We will work to recreate the memories of that time that remain in people's minds."

Lineage Classic is a PC game that implements an early-2000s version. It includes four classes, including monarch, knight, elf and wizard, and early content such as Talking Island, Dragon Valley and the Giran area.
