Meritz Securities said on Monday it has been selected for Amazon Web Services (AWS) global best-practice programme Win-Wires.
It is the first such case among South Korean financial firms. Win-Wires is an AWS programme that selects and introduces cases of successful adoption of technologies using its cloud.
Meritz Securities said it was recognised for its technology in building 100 percent of all services for a new community platform it plans to launch in the first half of this year in a cloud environment.
The company said it is building the platform with a focus on internal testing and stability verification ahead of the official service launch. It plans to roll out services in stages after sufficient verification.
Lee Jang-uk (이장욱), head of the InnoBiz division at Meritz Securities, said, "This selection is meaningful in that it has been recognised by global standards." He said, "We will focus on ensuring technical completeness and stability until the official opening."
