WordPress has launched a new connector that links to Anthropic's AI chatbot Claude, TechCrunch reported on Feb. 6.
The connector lets WordPress site owners share backend data with Claude. They can choose what data to share and revoke access at any time.
Claude has read-only permissions and cannot edit site content. WordPress last year announced plans to grant Claude write access, which is expected to allow users to use AI to carry out editing tasks.
On accounts linked to Claude, users can ask the chatbot a range of questions about site data. They can request a monthly web traffic summary or an analysis of posts with low user engagement. It can also check pending comments and retrieve a list of plugins.
WordPress also provides template prompts for Claude. Users can ask questions such as, "Show me the posts that have the most discussion." WordPress said this allows site managers to carry out data analysis and administrative tasks more efficiently.
