Korea Investment Securities said on Thursday it has launched the HanTu Campus Tour, an on-campus investment education program for university students.

The first event of the HanTu Campus Tour was held on Feb. 4 at Chung-Ang University. It provided basic practical investment training, including stock trading methods. The company also introduced its student mock investment contest and its student supporters program, BanKIS Buddy.

About 120 students who attended took time to deepen their understanding of investing by asking a range of questions, from technical analysis of stock charts to the use of open APIs. They also showed strong interest in information on jobs in the financial sector and actively communicated with staff on site.

Korea Investment Securities plans to expand its on-the-ground service, starting with this event and touring about 20 major universities nationwide this year.

Do-hyun Kim (김도현), head of the retail customer group at Korea Investment Securities, said the company designed an on-site program to help university students gain an in-depth understanding of the investment environment and form sound financial habits. He said it plans to continue approaching students nationwide first and expand financial touchpoints.
