Huawei Korea said on Wednesday it held an education and technology exchange program for a joint overseas training group from Seoul National University and Jeonbuk National University at its headquarters in Shenzhen, China, and its Dongguan campus.

The visit is part of the universities’ global overseas training program, the JBNU & SNU Joint Program in China. It is a joint global experiential learning program that Seoul National University runs in cooperation with regional national universities. The delegation comprised 46 people, including Seoul National University professor Kang-jae Lee (이강재), Jeonbuk National University professor Jeong-su Kim (김정수) and 40 students from the two schools.

The group toured Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen and its Dongguan campus. It received briefings on Huawei’s research and development environment, global business strategy and how ICT technologies are applied in industry and daily life. It also held on-site briefings and question-and-answer sessions focused on core technology areas such as networks, AI and smart devices.

Huawei Korea said it plans to support South Korean young people in building capabilities to compete on the international stage through cooperation with domestic university partners.

Huawei is also expanding its education cooperation ecosystem globally. The Huawei ICT Academy operates in more than 110 countries and regions and has taught more than 1.3 million students. Since the Huawei ICT Competition began in 2015, more than 2,000 universities and more than 960,000 teachers and students in over 100 countries and regions have participated.
