[Digital Today reporter Lee Ho-jung (이호정)] Naver has published a white paper summarising its major security-related activities in 2025 and is expanding privacy support for businesses expanding overseas.

On Thursday, Naver said it released the 2025 Naver Security White Paper and carried out an overhaul including strengthening global personal data-related content within the Naver Privacy Center.

Naver publishes a security white paper every year to transparently disclose its key activities over the year and share major security issues. The 2025 Naver Security White Paper highlights newly emerging security issues as AI technology advances, focusing on major security activities Naver carried out in response.

The paper details a range of activities aimed at providing safer services, including strengthened security review processes across service design, development and operations, enhanced models for detecting abuse and phishing, and security training and campaigns for employees and partners.

According to the security white paper, the number of valid bug bounty reports, in which vulnerabilities are found and improved with external security experts, fell 77.2 percent over the past 5 years, indicating service stability and security have further improved as a result of these efforts.

Naver also created a Global Privacy Monthly Trends category in its Privacy Center to help startups operating globally run their businesses safely and legally overseas. Starting in March, it plans to introduce major global privacy issues and regulatory trends each month.

It also made more specific its Global Privacy Policy Writing Guidelines, which support startups expanding overseas in drafting personal data processing policies. It added guidelines for China and Japan, following the United States and Europe that it has provided since 2018, and created a frequently asked questions category to help more overseas-bound businesses receive practical support.
