Kakao Entertainment said on Thursday it held the "2025 second-half Webtoon Feedback Day" on Jan. 21 at its Pangyo office.
About 30 aspiring creators participated. Webtoon Feedback Day is a mentoring program held twice a year for industry-academia partner university students and other hopefuls. Participants receive one-on-one feedback from Kakao Webtoon producers based on works they planned themselves, to check their debut potential.
The program is run as a practical structure that goes beyond a simple experience, covering everything from the planning stage to serialization standards. It is also producing results. Kakao Entertainment signed serialization contracts within about 5 months with 3 works by participants from the first half. The works are set to be released in the first half of this year on Kakao Webtoon and KakaoPage.
The event was attended by 6 people selected through recruitment for the general category, as well as industry-academia partner university students. Participants explained the concept and planning intent of their works and received detailed advice from producers on how to improve them.
One participant said, "Being able to exchange opinions immediately gave me confidence about debuting." Another participant who joined for a second consecutive year said, "Specific advice, such as how to build market competitiveness, was a big help."
A Kakao Entertainment official said the program helps aspiring creators objectively review their works and move to the next stage. "We will continue to run it in a way that can provide practical support to creators with potential," the official said.
