[DigitalToday reporter Hyunwoo Chu] Shanghai Journal, a Korean media outlet in China, and South Korean business news outlet Alpha Economy signed a strategic partnership on March 4 to share South Korea-China economic information and expand their reporting networks.
The two organisations signed a memorandum of understanding in the Shanghai Journal conference room in Shanghai, China, on March 4. They agreed to pursue multifaceted reporting cooperation, including coverage of bilateral industry issues and analysis of global companies. The aim is to deliver accurate on-the-ground information more quickly amid a rapidly changing Northeast Asian economic environment.
Under the agreement, Alpha Economy will provide in-depth analytical content on corporate governance and corporate internal controls, areas it says are its strengths. Shanghai Journal will share the reporting network of its local Korean community information platform, Shanghai Bang.
Alpha Economy plans to dispatch a correspondent to Shanghai Journal's headquarters to report directly from industrial sites in Shanghai, described as China's economic capital. This will secure its fourth overseas reporting base, following Chicago, Tokyo and Barcelona.
Shanghai Journal is currently a content provider for Naver's China channel and delivers local China news to readers in South Korea.
