[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Ethereum layer-2 project MegaETH recorded 47,000 transactions per second in a test ahead of a stress test, Cointelegraph reported on Monday.

MegaETH plans to conduct a global stress test and then launch its mainnet.

MegaETH is a blockchain designed with speed as the top priority and aims to be a “real-time blockchain” capable of processing more than 10,000 TPS. Web3 game applications stomp.gg, Smasher and Crossy Fluffle will take part in the stress test, and the MegaETH team plans to process 11 billion transactions on the backend.

During the test, MegaETH is targeting 15,000 to 35,000 TPS. After its official launch, it is expected to process the most transactions among Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chains.

Solana, currently known as an ultra-fast blockchain, can theoretically process 65,000 TPS but in practice runs at about 3,100 TPS, Cointelegraph said.
