KakaoPay said on Sunday it has introduced new original content, 'Cost of Keeping Sanity', via its own YouTube channel '₩ORKSHOP', presenting office workers' hobby spending culture in a variety-show format.
'Cost of Keeping Sanity' is a newly coined term meaning the money people willingly pay for what they like. The content was planned by drawing on a keyword that drew broad sympathy on social media.
Under the slogan, 'Payday passes by, fandom remains', the series will capture the lifestyles of K-office workers who enjoy various hobbies and the spending experiences that come with them. Oh My Girl's Hyojung serves as MC.
Recently released episodes on running and freediving portrayed office workers relieving daily stress through healthy hobbies and drew strong sympathy from viewers. Reviews said candid conversations between MC Hyojung and guests serious about their hobbies added fun and immersion.
Future episodes will cover a wide range of hobbies, including knitting, ballet, horseback riding and camping. Videos will be regularly uploaded on the ₩ORKSHOP YouTube channel at 5 p.m. every Friday.
KakaoPay said, "Cost of Keeping Sanity is content that captures a record of healthy spending by office workers who balance daily life through hobbies they like." It added, "We will continue to introduce content that connects finance and daily life, consumption and personal tastes, and expand user touchpoints across the overall lifestyle."
