[Barcelona, Spain = DigitalToday reporter Jin-ho Lee] KT will unveil its robot platform, K RaaS (KT Robot as a Service), at MWC26 on March 1, along with a physical artificial intelligence (AI) strategy that connects robots, facilities and IT systems into a single intelligent ecosystem.

K RaaS is a robot orchestration platform that goes beyond controlling individual robots to implement physical AI services that can be operated in practice. Optimised for cloud environments, it monitors and centrally manages heterogeneous robots and facilities distributed around the world in real time. It is designed so physical AI operates by service flow, beyond single-robot automation.

The platform includes various agents. The Service Builder Agent supports designing and deploying robot convergence services tailored to customer environments without separate development. The K RaaS Agent uses a natural-language interface to check mission status and analyse operational data to generate reports.

Next-generation robot intelligence VLA Agent that sees, understands and acts

KT will also showcase next-generation robot intelligence, the VLA (Vision-Language-Action) Agent. The VLA Agent integrates and understands visual information and language and connects that understanding to real actions. It is also designed with a general-purpose architecture.

Robots identify user intent based on a wake word and gaze recognition and act according to context. For example, when asked, "Guide me to a window seat," it judges headcount and seating conditions, calculates the best location and starts autonomous movement. During movement, it detects its surroundings with lidar and depth cameras to avoid obstacles. All data processing is performed on-device, meeting the high security requirements demanded at industrial sites.

Autonomous collaboration among robots ... showcasing a complete service ecosystem

KT will also present the on-site Edge R2R (Robot-to-Robot) Agent. The agent performs three core roles: providing integrated services for heterogeneous robots, orchestrating all agents and legacy systems on site, and carrying out missions through real-time linkage with the platform. Visitors can intuitively confirm how physical AI works through a smart auto factory scenario.

KT will also unveil the K RaaS Order and Delivery Agent. It is a customer-facing service in which AI agents cooperate to perform the entire process from ordering to robot delivery. Robots move autonomously by linking with facility systems such as elevators and security gates, and customers can check real-time location and order status.

Seung-pil Oh (오승필), head of KT's Technology Innovation Division and a vice president, said K RaaS has a structure that trains on-site data based on neural networks and reflects it in service quality improvements and operational optimisation. He said KT will expand a virtuous-cycle physical AI system across industry, in which performance advances as learning and execution repeat.
