LG Uplus said on Oct. 28 it ranked first in the IPTV category of the "2026 AI Transformation (AX) Quality Satisfaction Index" hosted by the Korea Standards Association.
The AX Quality Satisfaction Index is an indicator that evaluates the quality of products and services with AI applied from the perspective of AI experience as perceived by customers. Based on its AIPTV strategy unveiled in 2024, LG Uplus has expanded the use of AI functions across its IPTV services. The award recognised improvements in content search and viewing convenience by applying AI technology to its IPTV service, U+tv.
Key U+tv features include "Ixi Voice Search," which lets users find content as if talking with AI and control playback, speed and subtitle settings by voice; "Ixi Voice Chatbot," which allows 24-hour inquiries about how to use TV services and rate plans; and "AI Subtitles," which analyses content audio to automatically generate subtitles and adjust their position.
LG Uplus has ranked first in a total of 11 categories this year in major customer satisfaction and service quality evaluations. In the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI), it achieved its first top ranking in the mobile phone services category and a fifth consecutive top ranking in the IPTV category. In the Call Center Quality Index (KS-CQI), it also became a two-time winner for a second straight year in the telecommunications sector, including mobile communications and ultra-high-speed internet and IPTV.
Jung Hye-yoon (정혜윤), an executive director at LG Uplus, said, "Recording first place in a total of 11 categories in major service and quality evaluations this year is the result of recognition for efforts to improve customer experience." She said, "We will continue to enhance the convenience and value that customers can feel, based on AI and digital technology."
