[DigitalToday reporter Lee Ho-jung (이호정)] G-Star 2026 will expand its indie game exhibition and run an online promotion linked to global PC game platform Steam.
The G-Star Organizing Committee on Oct. 28 unveiled the participant lineup for "G-Star Indie Showcase 2.0: Galaxy" and its Steam-linked program.
This year's indie showcase will be held on the first floor of Hall 2 at BEXCO in Busan. A total of 109 indie developers from South Korea and overseas will take part. Total participation, including partners such as Devolver Digital, Unity, the European Game Developers Federation (EGDF), the Polish Cultural Institute in Korea and Red Brick House, is 114 companies.
The Unity Indie Showcase Zone will present 30 games made with the Unity engine and winners of the "Unity AI Game Jam."
Devolver Digital plans to unveil a special build of an unreleased new title for the first time at the G-Star venue. Games from emerging South Korean developers selected by Red Brick House will also be available for hands-on demos, while the Polish Cultural Institute in Korea will run a game experience zone and an art wall exhibition.
A Steam Deck demo area will also be set up with official hardware partner Komodo. Visitors will be able to try games selected for Steam Deck at the venue.
Online, it will operate a "G-Star 2026 Special Promotion" page on Steam. The page will provide game introductions and discount information from major G-Star participants and indie developers in one place, and entries will be featured through Steam featured banners.
The special promotion will run during the G-Star event period, and detailed schedules and access routes will be announced later through the official G-Star website and social media (SNS).
In Hall 2, in addition to the indie showcase, G-Star 2026 will also offer areas for hands-on demos of new titles, a game culture festival and sim-racing experience content from Hyundai Motor.
This year's G-Star BTC tickets will be sold online only, with no on-site sales. Tickets can be purchased through the official G-Star website and KREAM's G-Star special page.
