KB Kookmin Bank is holding a cash giveaway event for new customers who join the Noran Umbrella scheme through non-face-to-face channels, to support retirement preparation and asset building for small businesses and self-employed operators.

The bank said on Oct. 28 it will run the "Noran Umbrella Non-Face-to-Face New Sign-up Event" with the Korea Federation of SMEs through Nov. 30.

Noran Umbrella is a public mutual aid scheme designed to help small businesses and self-employed operators prepare for situations in which they face livelihood difficulties due to business closure or old age. It offers benefits including income deductions on contributions and compound interest.

The event targets customers who newly join the Noran Umbrella mutual aid scheme through KB Star Banking or KB Star Corporate Banking. The bank will pay 20,000 won in cash to the first 5,000 new customers who sign up during the event period.

KB Kookmin Bank expects the event to help expand participation in the Noran Umbrella mutual aid scheme among small businesses and self-employed operators.

A KB Kookmin Bank official said, "We will continue to expand financial support and services that provide practical help to small businesses and self-employed operators."
