SOOP said on Oct. 22 it signed a memorandum of understanding with Jeungpyeong County to revitalise local culture and content.

The signing ceremony was held on Oct. 21 at the Reading King Kim Deuk-sin Literature Museum in Jeungpyeong County, North Chungcheong Province. SOOP CEO Lee Min-won (이민원) and Jeungpyeong County Governor Lee Jae-young (이재영) attended.

The two sides will cooperate on discovering and spreading content using local resources, jointly planning locally linked content, exchanges between local residents and SOOP streamers and users, promoting the region through the SOOP platform, and using local facilities and resources for content production.

SOOP will handle content production and distribution using its streamer network and platform. Jeungpyeong County will support production by linking local facilities with cultural and tourism resources.

They plan to jointly promote relay busking,慰問 performances, visits to local festivals and on-site events. Streamers will experience local culture and venues and introduce them, and they also plan programs in which residents and online users participate together.

Ahead of the agreement, the two sides held a "SOOP X Jeungpyeong Relay Busking" event in September. On Oct. 21, the day of the signing ceremony, SOOP also staged a performance of its music content "Amuso" at the Jeungpyeong Culture Center. The music crews Prism and Mongru took part, among others.

Lee said, "We will capture the region's unique stories and culture in content so they can meet more people." He added, "We will continue collaborations that introduce the region's diverse aspects together with streamers."
