XRP has entered a retest zone for key support around $1.14 after a recent pullback, blockchain media outlet Decrypt reported on Oct. 13.

If XRP slides about 15.8 percent from its current price of around $1.36, it could fall to about $1.1449, where it broke above the top of a downtrend channel, the report said.

Market attention is focused on whether this area will act as support again. The $1.1449 level overlaps with the upper boundary of the downtrend channel, which previously acted as resistance. If buying holds the area, XRP could climb back above $2 and rebound as far as $2.33. If the level breaks, the risk of further declines below $1 increases.

XRP’s downtrend channel formed after a peak of $3.66 on July 2025. Over the following months, rallies repeatedly stalled at the channel top, limiting recovery. On Oct. 6, 2025, it climbed to $3.05 but was pushed back by resistance at the top. On Jan. 5, 2026, it rose to $2.41 before falling again. During that period, the channel bottom acted as support several times, with the most recent major test coming when it slid to $1.0080 in June 2026.

The mood shifted in August 2026. XRP broke above the top of the downtrend channel and rose 53 percent on a weekly basis. The breakout was taken as a change in chart structure, and expectations for a mid- to long-term recovery also grew. XRP then climbed to $1.70 in August before pulling back to $1.25 in September. In that process, the price returned to the former channel top, and the area also aligned with the September low.

In late September, XRP rebounded to $1.65, but a fresh pullback has put the August breakout structure under pressure again. If additional declines continue from current levels, the market will check whether buyers defend the area near $1.14. If XRP holds the zone, it could signal the uptrend since August has not been fully broken.

Technical indicators also pointed to a similar pattern. In the Directional Movement Index (DMI), the positive directional indicator stood at 25.0544 but is trending lower. The medium-term uptrend remains intact, but it suggests buying momentum is weakening. The Average Directional Index (ADX) was 26.14, showing trend strength remains, but it is also falling, indicating the trend is losing force. By contrast, the negative directional indicator rose gradually to 19.99, suggesting downside pressure is increasing.

That leaves the near-term turning point for XRP concentrated on whether it can defend $1.14. If that level holds as support, scenarios for a recovery to $2 and another push toward $2.33 remain in play. If it fails, the likelihood could rise of a retest near $0.98, around the August 2026 low. The outlet also noted that if a sharp selloff across the broader cryptocurrency market overlaps, XRP could fall below $1.
