Meta has released open-source code that lets users build their own devices equipped with its AI agent, Muse. The Verge reported on Oct. 2 that the code supports making Muse devices by installing an SDK on an ESP32 board or a Raspberry Pi and connecting a display, buttons, sensors and actuators.

Meta gave examples such as showing notifications by displaying Muse on a color e-ink screen, or putting it in an HDMI stick to show it on a larger display. It also introduced a way to apply it to a small touchscreen device and decorate it like a self-made "Muse charm".

Meta described the devices as "open-source devices built by users" and said they can also be connected to other parts. It added that users should proceed at their own risk.

Meta also provides a self-made "Muse Home Link". The device can use community-made functions to turn on lights, control a TV or send documents to a printer.

"Muse Home Link" has been produced in 5,000 units. Nat Friedman (냇 프리드먼) of Meta Superintelligence Labs said it is currently taking waitlist registrations, and shipments are expected to take place this month.
