Tesla has applied a 16-inch central touchscreen to all Model 3 trims sold in the United States, Puerto Rico and Mexico. On Oct. 2, local time, electric vehicle outlet Electrek reported the change expanded to parts of North America a day after being introduced in China.

The front-row display across the Model 3 lineup has increased from 15.4 inches to 16 inches. The base Model 3 rear-wheel-drive (RWD) also gets the same screen, and the starting price stays at $36,990.

Performance in the dual-motor models has also been adjusted. The Model 3 Performance adds a black headliner, and its estimated range under U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards increases to 316 miles from 309 miles. Peak output is listed at 528 horsepower. Acceleration from a standstill to 60 mph is unchanged at 2.9 seconds.

The Model 3 Premium AWD cuts its 0 to 60 mph time to 3.8 seconds from 4.2 seconds. Its range is 346 miles.

Tesla did not explain what changes led to the higher output and longer range. It also did not say whether the same improvements will be applied to vehicles already delivered. Prices are unchanged: Model 3 at $36,990, Premium RWD at $42,490, Premium AWD at $47,490 and Performance at $54,990.

The update also did not add vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability to the U.S.-market Model 3. In China, all Model 3 vehicles can supply 2.2 kW of AC power externally through an adapter, but in the United States the feature applies only to the Model Y Premium, Model Y Performance and the Cybertruck.

The light gray interior option added in China is also not available on the U.S.-market model. U.S. buyers can still choose only black or a black-and-white combination, and the black headliner applies only to the Performance trim. Canada is excluded from the change. The Model 3 sold in Canada still comes with a 15.4-inch screen.
