Mike Novogratz (마이크 노보그라츠), CEO of global financial services and investment firm Galaxy Digital, maintained an optimistic outlook on bitcoin. He said the chart trend remained positive and it would not be surprising if it reached $100,000, or about 136 million won, by year-end.
U.Today, a blockchain outlet, reported on Sept. 28 that Novogratz said in a recent All Things Markets interview, "I still like the charts," adding, "I wouldn't be surprised if we're at $100,000 by year-end."
Bitcoin is trading at an important technical level. The market is split on whether bitcoin will move higher or continue a period of correction and sideways trading. Novogratz did not appear overly concerned even without an immediate breakout.
Novogratz cited not only bitcoin's price action but also increased activity across the broader crypto ecosystem as a basis for improving sentiment. He said, "There are lots of good little stories around, and it's bringing a bit of enthusiasm back to the crypto market." He meant that multiple small positive factors and changes are accumulating and reviving investor sentiment.
He also said the current market environment may require investors to tolerate significant volatility to prepare for further gains. He suggested staying in the market with the possibility of upside in mind even if bitcoin does not show a clear short-term direction.
Novogratz said this risk-on environment could also affect fund flows in the crypto market.
Novogratz also mentioned the possibility of some fund rotation between momentum stocks and cryptocurrencies. He said, "When momentum stocks sell off, you see crypto do a little better," adding, "Maybe there's some rotation."
For bitcoin to reach $100,000 by year-end, it would need to rise further from current levels. Novogratz did not present $100,000 as a definite target or a guaranteed outcome. He limited his view to saying the chart trend remained positive and it would not be surprising if a year-end move to $100,000 materialised.
Novogratz has recently maintained an optimistic view on bitcoin, citing improved trading volume, rising activity in the crypto ecosystem and sustained price momentum.
